Battling over president’s legacy – Barack’s bevy of freebies comes at steep price

adriana-cohen-bh_Jan202015_baracks-legacyOur entitlement president will deliver a propaganda-fueled State of the Union pep rally tonight filled with a toxic combo of $320 billion in proposed new taxes and promises of more free stuff.

Free community college tuition, free health care, free paid sick leave … basically anything he can dole out while fundamentally transforming America from The Greatest Generation to The Lamest One.

A place where pot-smoking slackers well into their 20s can mooch off working and middle-class families while playing video games in their parents’ basements, in their hemp-made, free-trade feetie pajamas.

Which begs an important question: How did we go from President John F. Kennedy’s patriotic “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country” to the welfare dependent, loser generation?

You know things are bad, when a Ronald-Reagan-loving Republican like myself, misses a Democrat — Kennedys included.

Hell, I even miss Bill and Monica at this point! With $7 trillion added to the national debt under Obama’s watch, do you blame me? We’re just going to have to ride out this storm hoping the Titantic doesn’t hit the iceberg before the next Inauguration Day.

With respect to entitlements, everyone out of diapers knows nothing in life is free. Community college giveaways will cost taxpayers billions. So will free or subsidized health care. We remember when the president promised repeatedly Obamacare would lower health care costs. Who believed that? Harvard professors?

How does one magically give free or subsidized health insurance to tens of millions of people and expect costs not to escalate for the rest of us?

By now most Americans know that Obama’s hollow promises should be taken with a pinch of salt. Unless you still believe “If you like your health care plan and your doctor, you can keep it.” In which case, your avatar on Xbox is probably “Pajama Boy” and there’s no help for you.

On the foreign policy front, Obama thinks the way to win the global war on terror is to dispatch U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to the City of Lights with James Taylor for a kumbaya sing-along. Three words: Embarrassing, wimpy and dumb.

All I can say is thank God we still got the Second Amendment — with ISIS on the loose, a sappy folk song just won’t cut it.
