Inaction lets terror threat creep closer

Downplay, deflect and blame.

That’s President Obama’s de facto response anytime there’s a radical Islamic terror attack — no matter how heinous — or if the facts don’t support his spin show.

Obama told us al-Qaeda was “on the run,” then the deadly terror attack in Benghazi happened. He blamed a video. Our Denier-In-Chief called the Islamic State a JV team, while the terror army took over swaths of Iraq and Syria, and beheaded Americans. He informed us ISIS was contained — right before the attacks on Paris and Brussels.

Now, after the worst terror attack on U.S. soil since radical Islamists flew airplanes into the World Trade Center, he continues to downplay the threat — despite dozens of as-yet unburied dead in Orlando. Instead of getting angry at the murderous jihadi, Obama got angry at Donald Trump, the GOP and guns. Never mind that his own CIA director now tells us ISIS is more dangerous than ever.

“Unfortunately, despite all our progress against ISIL on the battlefield and in the financial realm, our efforts have not reduced the group’s terrorism capability and global reach,” John Brennan warned the Senate Intelligence Committee. “We judge that ISIL is training and attempting to deploy operatives for further attacks. ISIL has a large cadre of Western fighters who could potentially serve as operatives for attacks in the West. And the group is probably exploring a variety of means for infiltrating operatives into the West, including refugee flows, smuggling routes, and legitimate methods of travel.”

Guess Trump wasn’t a bigot after all. His bold stance calling for a temporary halt of Muslim refugees from countries like Syria wasn’t so out there after all.

It’s worth noting that since Sunday’s terror attack in Orlando, Obama has let in 441 refugees from Syria, according to It’s also worth remembering that in Brussels, authorities found a jihadi bomb-making factory, as well as hours of surveillance video of a nuclear facility and a scientist. The CIA director also warned Congress yesterday about ISIS getting nuclear capability. These are frightening times.

But don’t tell liberals that. They’d rather call Trump a racist and focus on climate change.

Days after Orlando, want to know where Secretary of State John Kerry is? Floating around in the Arctic Circle checking out “climate change.”

ISIS is laughing. And the joke’s on us.
